Best known as the home of the Phoenician sailors who colonized the Mediterranean, Lebanon has also borne witness to other pivotal historical periods.  The number and size of classical ruins, such as those at Baalbek, illustrate the economic importance of this region within the Roman world.  This tour will highlight different periods of Lebanon's history and will also feature lesser-known Phoenician, Roman, Umayyad and Ottoman sites.
