Mathilda’s been working in travel for almost ten years and is passionate about her job. Backpacking through Australasia, living in a Zimbabwean village and working on an eco-project in Mexico are just some of the great experiences she’s had.
What have been your favourite travelling experiences to date?
Being part of a volunteer group doing eco work on the reef off the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and teaching the locals about sustainable tourism.
What’s been the most interesting site(s) you’ve visited?
Matopos Hills in Zimbabwe. I found the combination of the silence and awe-inspiring views incredibly atmospheric.
Your favourite Traveller Tours?
Ethiopia. It’s a country that I’ve always wanted to visit because of its fascinating history, stunning scenery and gorgeous jewellery.
The one travel item you never leave home without?
A book! The best places to visit generally take a long time to get to
What’s your best piece of travel advice?
Try everything at least once
Where would you like to go next and why?
Diving with whale sharks in Mozambique. Diving is my passion and having an opportunity to dive with these huge prehistoric fish would be an unbelievable experience
