'Destination Kashgar' - Popular Traveller lecturer Iain Shearer (archaeologist and researcher for Lonely Planet and National Geographic) explores the Pamir Highway, taking the group from Kyrgyzstan across the 'roof of the world' all the way to Kashgar. New for 2010 is a ground-breaking programme to Mexico, led by experts Colin McEwan and Warwick Bray. Colin is curator of the Moctezuma: Aztec Ruler major exhibition at the British Museum. Colin's personal highlight for the trip is an early morning visit to the magnificent site of Teotihuacan to watch the sunrise over the pyramid of the Sun, as well as a visit to the active excavations at the Templo Mayor, most sacred site of the Aztec rulers.

As ever, our Middle East programme continues to offer the chance to visit ongoing archaeological excavations such as those sites on Jonathan Tubb's Ancient Syria tour, as well as new destinations like Lebanon, which, due to recent changes in FCO advice we are now able to offer.
