INTRODUCTION

"Egypt to its End" is how the Egyptians referred to the whole of Egypt. The autumn is a perfect time to visit and this tour travels from the Mediterranean to the First Cataract, highlighting sites much-loved and others less-visited but all equally intriguing. From the pyramid-fields of the north and the treasures of the Cairo Museum, to impressive Ptolemaic and New Kingdom temples in the south, from the Valley of the Kings to private tombs in Middle Egypt and as far south as Aswan, from Alexandria ancient and modern to the evocative site of Amarna, built for the heretic king Akhenaten, we experience 3000 years of Egypt's pharaonic glory."
