INTRODUCTION
This journey begins in the Nile Delta focusing on Alexandria, once the largest city in the world and capital of the Ptolemaic Empire. In striking contrast you then head deep into the arid Western Desert, to the atmospheric Berber oases of Siwa and Bahariya. These less visited regions offer a refreshingly different side to Egypt than the welltrodden Nile Valley.
Highlights:
Explore two very different regions off the main tourist trail
The ancient Egyptian capital of Tanis
The atmospheric oasis town of Siwa built from salt blocks
