INTRODUCTION
"The Sultanate of Oman has been one of Arabia's best kept secrets for way too long. Since 1986 it's been my home - join me as we explore some of its 1700km of coastline facing the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea. Travel though Oman's dramatic scenery whose mountains dramatically crash towards sand deserts and large oases surrounding medieval fortified towns and castles. Having visited all of the Arabian Peninsular countries I hope you will agree with me that Oman offers a welcome like no other. Its people, immaculately dressed in colourful ethnic costumes perpetuating traditional trades and skills, possess a traditional courtesy. Epitomised by the legendary Sindbad the sailor, Oman is a seafaring nation, where one can still see traditional fishing and boat-building taking place. Join me in gleaning an insight into a traditional society transforming itself into a modern state".
