INTRODUCTION

The Ruthenian homelands spanned Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. Its inhabitants, the Rusyns were one of the lost peoples of Europe who enjoyed the briefest period of nationhood. This tour uncovers their origins, as well as taking in Hanseatic Gdansk and rejuvenated Warsaw. Travel through the western Carpathian homelands, a quiet, secluded and scenic rolling landscape peppered with delightful churches and a rich artistic heritage.
