INTRODUCTION

This is a challenging tour along the old Sogdian Silk Road through Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Kashgar, the epicentre of The Great Game. Travel across dramatic landscapes over high passes through The Pamirs to Kashgar. Isolated for much of the last century, this region’s critical strategic position has attracted many travellers and explorers, an allure which endures to this day.
